Elissa Petesic is a physiotherapist with a background in dance and movement and a passion for treating dancers. Prior to becoming a physiotherapist she obtained a Certificate IV in Matwork and a Diploma in Pilates Studio and Rehabilitation through Polestar Pilates as well as completing full time dance studies at Ev and Bow where she attained a Certificate IV in Dance.
Elissa’s dance experience as a student, performer and teacher has given her a thorough and lived experience of the demands placed on performers at all levels. Her dance studies focused on contemporary dance and classical ballet and her exposure to Pilates through dancing allowed her to see the benefits of cross training and its role in movement refinement. Her experiences have led her to work with the cast and crew of numerous Sydney musical productions including Saturday Night Fever, Muriel’s Wedding the Musical and West Side Story.
Elissa also has diverse experience as a physiotherapist within the public health system including post-operative care as well as a unique secondment to Outback Australia and experience providing Physiotherapy to remote areas working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service. She is committed to ongoing professional development and has completed courses interstate and internationally.
Elissa is passionate about empowering her clients throughout their rehabilitation to enable a faster return to sport as well as injury prevention.
